DALLAS' ASSASSINATION CITY ROLLER DERBY TO HOST ESTEEMED GOVERNOR'S CUP AT HISTORIC FAIR PARK COLISE

Dallas, TX - January 18, 2012 - Assassination City Roller Derby, Dallas' only women's flat track roller derby league is proud to announce the highly coveted Governor's Cup, hosted by ACRD right in the heart of downtown Dallas. For the first time ever, the two-day invitational tournament will be held at the historic Fair Park Coliseum hosting leagues from four states on Saturday January 28 and Sunday January 29, 2012.

The Texas Governor’s Cup is a 2-day flat track roller derby tournament that is sanctioned by the Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA). Starting in 2006, the Governor’s Cup evolved into defining the best of Texas roller derby teams. Teams from Dallas, San Antonio, Austin, Beaumont, have participated in the past, and now teams representing Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and New Mexico will duke it out to capture bragging rights (and the highly sought after Armadillo trophy) until next year.

The Saturday night official after party will be a block party at Expo Park involving Meridian Room, Pizza Lounge and Amsterdam Bar. The Sunday night official tournament closer after party will be held at the Doublewide Bar, with a performance by Graceland Ninjaz.

Tickets can be purchased in advance online at www.governors-cup.com.

Ticket prices are $25 for a one day pass and $40 for two-day passes with group rate discounts available for groups of 10 or more. Children 10 and under get in free if accompanied by a parent. Fair Park Coliseum is located at 1438 Coliseum Drive, Dallas, Texas 75210. Bouts start at 9 am on both Saturday and Sunday with doors opening at 8:30 a.m.
