Malloy continues meetings with firms eyeing Conn.

HARTFORD, Conn. —

Gov. Dannel P. Malloy is continuing to meet with companies during his trip to the World Economic Forum's annual meeting in Davos, Switzerland, and says one firm told him it's interested in bringing 1,000 jobs to Connecticut.

Malloy did not name the company but said it will be added to an existing list of 22 firms that could qualify for state incentives and benefits.

Malloy said he has received "concrete offers" from multiple firms during his trip but it could take a month to a year for state officials to thoroughly consider those offers.

Malloy told reporters in a conference call Friday he also met with officials from UBS, the global banking company based in Switzerland, which has offices and a trading floor in Stamford.

The forum runs through Sunday.
